Maximo Park interviewBetween the annoying sound of the air-condisomething in the backstage of Magazzini Generali in Milan and the soundchecking of Animal Kingdom we (I) interviewed last Monday Paul Smith from Maximo Park.

Paul is lovely to interview: he talks a lot. I had lots of question but only 10 minutes. So it’s only a short unformal chatting…

It’s nice the last part of interview about twitter, check it out ;)

[and hooray for me: I’ve always missed their show for lots of things and now I’ve seen them! So cool]

terraShe’s on her second european tour, just now. Here’s our via skype interview with Terra Naomi.

Terra Naomi is an alternative, rock, and pop artist, who rose to fame through a performance of her song “Say It’s Possible” on the video sharing site YouTube. Originally from New York State, but currently based in Los Angeles, she writes and performs her own songs, and plays the guitar and piano.

During our radio show, even an acoustic performance for us.

Me and Janove OttensenI think that in Italy we only listen to Kaizers Orchestra in Emilia or something, but in 30km we are 3 people. I asked to Janove Ottensen during Frequency Festival 2011 why they don’t come in Italy and he said that a promoter try to bring them in Milan, but then he didn’t give another answer. So Kaizers prefer to being concentrate in the states that love the band. And coming in Italy for holiday (we had a long conversation about tuscan red wines)

The first part of the tape is totally fucked: we have the main stage totally in front of us and the frequency of voice are on the amplificators of somewhat band who played in that time. Skip to the last minute, please. If I try to clean audio… I loose everything. I will transcript this asap, and only in english I think because really seems that no one is interested in this amazing band.

Kaizers Orchestra is a Norwegian alternative rock group formed on January 1, 2000.The two leading members, vocalist Janove Ottesen and guitarist Geir Zahl, had known each other for years, and first played together in a band called Blod, Snått & Juling (Blood, Snot & Beating) in 1989.

Kaizers Orchestra are notable for being among the first non-black metal Norwegian bands or artists singing in their native language to become popular beyond Scandinavia. To other Norwegians, the band is instantly recognizable both because of their unique, unpredictable style, and because of vocalist Ottesen’s distinctive Jæren dialect, shared by four of the other band members.

Citizens! Interview + Soundcheck

Lovely. Absolutely lovely interview: Lawrence Diamond and his mates deserve all the best in this 2012.

We recordered this chat before their concert in Milan, 20th April. The second one ever in Italy: I remember that Lawrence had never seen before the promo of their cd and so he took a pic of it.

Yep, another lovely thing. They are one of the hottest band, so check it out their work and also have a listen to them live.

[also you can hear some people chatting in true italian language at the coffee machine… they didn’t think we were there for an interview, tsk]

Here We Are was released through Kitsuné on Monday May 28th 2012. The 11-track album was recorded in Scotland in the autumn of 2011 and produced by Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand. The end of last year saw the band support The Rapture and more recently they played the Electric Ballroom in London as part of the NME’s run of Award show gigs.

Citizens! are: Tom Burke (vocals), Thom Rhoades (guitar), Martyn Richmond (bass), Lawrence Diamond (keyboards / guitar) & Mike Evans (drums)
