“Do you want to interview someone from Wilco?” my friend Micro asked me. And I said: “well, why not, you know”. She told me that they do one or zero interview in all venues… and in Bologna there were no requests. Cool, I thought.
Then I had an interview with Nels Cline. At 3 pm, and while I was on the motorway a big piece of an accident car hit my windshield glass or how do you fuck call it. But well, it’s my karma. When I finally arrived at Estragon Nels was extremely cool: he started to told me that he remembered a bit different Bologna (“Now we are in the middle of Nowhere” “er, yes. The center isn’t so far, though”) and we spoke about wine. It’s nice, because I’m very ahem… informed in.
Cline was named the 82nd greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone magazine in November 2011, and the 43rd greatest guitarist of all time by Spin magazine in May 2012. One of those interviews where everybody hated me.
I’ve met again Nels in the press room in St. Poelten one month ago. He was drinking coffee and doing nothing, then he told me that he remembered me. And “why you are in Austria if you are italian?”. Long story, as usual.
